The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecast significant thunderstorm activity across a broad swath of the country on October 30, affecting 41 provinces nationwide. The weather alert comes as a seasonal low-pressure system moves across the region, bringing unstable atmospheric conditions.
The TMD advised residents and businesses in affected areas to take precautionary measures, including securing loose outdoor items and avoiding unnecessary travel during peak storm hours. The department warned of the potential for flash flooding in low-lying areas and advised farmers and agricultural workers to protect their crops and livestock.
The thunderstorm warning covers provinces across central, northern, northeastern, and eastern Thailand. Authorities have urged the public to monitor weather updates regularly and exercise caution during the inclement weather. The TMD indicated that storm intensity may vary by location, with some areas experiencing heavier rainfall than others.
Transport authorities have been placed on alert to manage potential disruptions to road and rail services. Power distribution companies were also notified to prepare response teams for potential outages caused by lightning and strong winds associated with the storms.
