Thailand FDA confirms no imports from US-flagged Chinese enoki producer

Thailand's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said Thursday it has detected no shipments of enoki mushrooms from the Chinese producer that drew warnings from United States authorities. The statement follows notification from international food safety networks about potential contamination concerns at the Chinese facility.

Thai health officials conducted a review of import records spanning recent months and found no consignments matching the flagged producer's details entering the kingdom. The FDA said it continues to monitor all mushroom imports through standard inspection protocols.

The US Food and Drug Administration had previously identified the Chinese facility as a source of concern, prompting notification to trading partners and import authorities across multiple countries. Such international alerts typically prompt swift action from regulatory bodies to prevent potentially contaminated products from reaching consumers.

Thailand's agricultural sector maintains significant enoki mushroom cultivation domestically, reducing reliance on certain foreign suppliers. The FDA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining food safety standards for both locally produced and imported products through enhanced surveillance and testing procedures.
