Thailand tightens deportation procedures for law-breaking foreigners

The regulation represents an effort by Bangkok to expedite the removal of non-citizens who breach Thai law, addressing longstanding concerns about foreign criminal activity in the kingdom. The enforcement date of August 28 gives immigration officials and other relevant agencies roughly one month to implement the new protocols. Officials have indicated the regulation will apply across Thailand's immigration system and border checkpoints.

The move comes as Thailand continues to strengthen its immigration enforcement mechanisms. The country hosts a substantial expatriate population and regularly processes thousands of visa applications and immigration-related matters each year.
