Thirteen people trapped in elevator for 20 minutes in Greater Noida

An elevator serving Ajnara Homes Society in Greater Noida West came to an abrupt halt between floors on Monday evening, leaving 13 occupants stranded in the confined space. The trapped passengers included young children and senior citizens, who endured rising temperatures and deteriorating conditions during their ordeal.

As the minutes elapsed inside the stalled lift, the situation grew increasingly difficult for those trapped. Children began crying distressed, their voices audible to people outside the elevator shaft. The sounds of distress from within prompted building residents and staff to respond quickly to the emergency.

Facility personnel worked to safely extract all 13 passengers from the malfunctioned lift after approximately 20 minutes. All occupants were brought to safety without reported serious injuries. The incident has raised concerns about elevator maintenance protocols in the residential complex.

The cause of the malfunction was not immediately disclosed. Authorities are likely to investigate the circumstances surrounding the lift failure to prevent similar incidents in the future.
