Thirty Malaysian areas record unhealthy air quality levels

Thirty locations across Malaysia have been classified as experiencing unhealthy air quality, according to latest air quality monitoring data. Petaling Jaya in Selangor recorded a reading of 149 on the Air Quality Index (AQI), placing it among the most polluted areas in the country. However, Serian in Sarawak surpassed all other monitored regions with the highest reading of 180, indicating severe air pollution levels in the district. The widespread air quality deterioration has affected multiple areas across the peninsula and East Malaysia. Health authorities typically recommend that individuals in areas recording readings above 150 restrict outdoor activities and use appropriate respiratory protection when venturing outside.
