The proposed expansion of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has received environmental clearance, paving the way for a ₹8,707-crore modernisation initiative. Once completed, the expanded facility is projected to handle 27 million passengers annually, compared to its current capacity, while cargo operations are expected to reach 0.42 million tonnes per annum. These figures represent a significant scaling up of the airport's infrastructure, reflecting anticipated demand growth in the coming years.
