Thousands still displaced weeks after Indonesia earthquake

More than a month after a powerful earthquake struck Indonesia, tens of thousands of people are still unable to return to their homes, compounding the psychological toll of the natural disaster.

As of late September, nearly 28,000 individuals remained displaced due to the seismic event, which caused extensive damage across affected regions. The earthquake destroyed or severely damaged more than 46,000 houses, leaving families scrambled to find temporary shelter and assess the extent of their losses.
