Three arrested after disrupting Malala memoir reading event in Ahmedabad

Three people were arrested in Ahmedabad after they disrupted a reading event centered on Malala Yousafzai's memoir, police said on Wednesday. The incident occurred when participants gathered to discuss the Nobel Prize winner's book, which chronicles her struggle for education and women's rights.
According to Vastrapur Police Station Inspector, the attackers claimed to be affiliated with the Bajrang Dal and the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), two Hindu nationalist organizations. The nature and extent of the alleged attack remain under investigation as police collect statements from witnesses and event organizers.
The arrest marks the latest in a series of incidents involving disruptions of cultural and educational events in India. Authorities have registered a case and launched a formal inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
