Railway police launched an investigation following the incident and tracked down the suspects to Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where they were subsequently apprehended. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the high-value case that has drawn considerable attention due to the audacity of the crime and the substantial amount of precious metal involved.
During the arrests, investigators recovered 612.74 grams of gold from the accused, along with four mobile phones believed to have been used in coordinating the theft and subsequent criminal activity. The recovered gold and electronic devices are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
