Three CJP activists sent to five-day judicial custody in Tihar

A Delhi court has sent three Communist Journalists' Programme (CJP) leaders to five-day judicial custody following their arrest early Tuesday. Ashutosh Ranka, Ajinkya Shinde and Saurav Das were taken into custody for allegedly breaching police barricades to enter the Jantar Mantar protest site in the capital.

The three activists were detained in the early hours of Tuesday after they reportedly crossed security cordons that had been erected around the area. Police said the men attempted to access the restricted zone without authorization, prompting their apprehension.

Following their arrest, the trio was produced before a Delhi court, which ordered their remand to judicial custody for five days. They have been lodged in Tihar Jail, Delhi's high-security correctional facility.

The arrests come amid heightened security measures around Jantar Mantar, a frequent site of political demonstrations and protests in New Delhi. Authorities have maintained strict access controls in the area to manage public gatherings and demonstrations.
