Three dead after car plunges into ravine in Sabah forest road

Three men died and another was left injured after their Proton Aeroback vehicle skidded off a forest road in the Lahad Datu district of Sabah on September 1, plummeting into a ravine below.
The accident occurred as the sedan negotiated a stretch of road through forested terrain. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to discover the vehicle had fallen a significant distance, trapping the occupants.
Rescue teams successfully extricated four men from the wreckage. Three were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth victim was transported to hospital with injuries sustained in the crash.
Investigations into the cause of the accident remain ongoing. Authorities have not disclosed details regarding road conditions or other potential factors that may have contributed to the vehicle losing control.
