COTABATO CITY — Three people were killed in separate shooting incidents across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao on Tuesday morning, according to regional police authorities.
One of the incidents occurred in Marawi City, where a long-standing land dispute escalated into gunfire involving four individuals, said Capt. Steffi Salanguit, police spokesperson for the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR). Details regarding the other two fatal incidents remained limited as investigations continued.
Police did not immediately provide additional information about the circumstances surrounding the other shootings or the identities of those involved. The incidents highlight ongoing tensions in the region, where property disputes and territorial conflicts have occasionally turned violent.
Authorities urged the public to report any suspicious activities and promised continued investigation into all three cases.
