Authorities in Rajkot have arrested ten individuals connected to an elaborate fraud operation involving the sale of counterfeit stamina-enhancing medications, according to police officials. The three illegal call centres were operating simultaneously, targeting customers with promises of performance-enhancing drugs before subjecting them to extortion through threats and intimidation.
The criminal network employed a systematic approach to victimize their targets, initially luring them with advertisements for sexual stamina medications. Once customers engaged with the fraudsters, gang members would send obscene material and threaten to expose the recipients to their family members and contacts unless they paid substantial sums of money, police said.
The investigation uncovered a coordinated network of operatives managing multiple communication channels to conduct the scheme. Police have seized merchandise valued at more than Rs 5.16 lakh from the premises and are currently examining financial records, bank account transactions, and call details to identify additional members of the criminal network.
Authorities have registered cases against the arrested individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are expanding the probe to determine whether the network had connections to similar operations in other regions. Officials have appealed to citizens to report any suspicious calls or messages related to such fraudulent schemes to local law enforcement.
