Three former drug convicts nabbed in Lucena City anti-narcotics operations

LUCENA CITY — Three former drug convicts were apprehended in separate anti-narcotics operations here on Sunday, November 1, police reported. Two of the suspects were taken into custody at 2:25 p.m. after allegedly selling crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu, to an undercover police officer in Barangay Ibabang Iyam.

The arrests coincided with the All Saints' Day observance, as law enforcement continued its intensified campaign against illegal drug trafficking across the city. Police did not immediately provide additional details regarding the third suspect or the circumstances surrounding that apprehension.

The confiscated drugs and other evidence were turned over to the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group for further investigation and processing. Charges against the suspects are expected to be filed with the appropriate prosecutor's office pending completion of the initial police inquiry.
