A tractor trolley carrying a Durga idol during immersion procession made fatal contact with a high-tension electricity line in Gorakhpur's Gulariha police station area on Wednesday evening, resulting in three deaths and multiple injuries. The metal rod affixed to the trolley struck the overhead power cable, causing a sudden surge of electrical current through the vehicle and those in proximity. The electrocution claimed the lives of three individuals, while ten others sustained severe burn injuries from the electrical discharge. All injured persons were immediately transported to the medical college for treatment and further assessment of their condition.
