Three killed in Houthi attacks on Saudi airports in Abha, Riyadh

Two separate attacks on Saudi airports Wednesday resulted in three deaths and multiple injuries, officials confirmed, with Yemen-based Houthi rebels claiming responsibility for the strikes. The Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation said attacks targeted Abha airport and Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, though it did not formally attribute the incidents.

The Abha airport attack killed a Moroccan and an Algerian resident, with 28 others wounded in the strike. At King Khalid International Airport, a Sudanese national was killed and eight people sustained injuries, according to Saudi officials.

The coordinated assaults represent the latest in a series of recent attacks on Saudi oil and military facilities. Enhanced security measures have been implemented across the kingdom's critical infrastructure, including newly installed protective barriers around fuel tanks and equipment operated by state-owned Saudi Aramco near Riyadh's airport.

The strikes add pressure on the world's largest oil exporter amid broader regional instability. Saudi Arabia's strategic importance to global energy markets and international shipping routes through nearby waterways makes such incidents a concern for global economic stability.
