Three killed in separate motorcycle accidents across Western Province
Three motorcyclists have died in separate road accidents in different locations across Sri Lanka's Western Province, police confirmed on Monday. The incidents occurred in Meegoda, Nochchiyagama, and Wadduwa.

The first fatality was recorded in Meegoda, where a 54-year-old police constable was killed when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle. Police said the accident occurred during daylight hours on a main thoroughfare in the area.
A second motorcyclist lost his life in a separate incident in Nochchiyagama, while a third fatal accident was reported from Wadduwa. Details regarding the circumstances of the latter two accidents remain under investigation by local police.
The three deaths add to Sri Lanka's concerning road safety statistics, with motorcycle accidents consistently accounting for a significant proportion of fatal traffic incidents across the country. Police have urged motorcyclists to adhere to speed limits and safety regulations, including the mandatory wearing of helmets and proper licensing.
