Three people, including a young child, were killed in separate road accidents across Quezon province on Tuesday, according to local police reports.
The deadliest incident occurred in Sariaya town when a 2-year-old boy was struck by a Toyota Tamaraw utility vehicle at approximately 2:30 p.m. The child was playing along the road in Barangay Sampaloc 2 when the vehicle, driven by a construction worker, hit him. Police said the driver was traveling at high speed at the time of the collision.
Two additional fatalities were recorded in separate accidents elsewhere in the province on the same day, though details of those incidents remained limited. The multiple accidents underscore ongoing road safety concerns in the region, where speeding and driver negligence continue to contribute to fatal collisions.
Police have launched investigations into each incident as authorities reiterate calls for drivers to observe speed limits and exercise caution in residential and pedestrian areas.
