Three mortar bombs discovered in drum safely detonated in Dengkil

A routine discovery turned into a potential security incident when a man found three mortar bombs concealed within a drum, triggering an emergency response from authorities in the Dengkil area.

Upon discovering the explosive devices, the man immediately alerted the relevant authorities, who secured the location and initiated standard protocols for handling ordnance. The rapid response ensured public safety while investigators assessed the situation.

Early Monday morning, a controlled detonation operation was successfully carried out at an open field in Dengkil, eliminating any threat posed by the three mortar rounds. No injuries were reported during the operation, and the area was cleared of civilians prior to the demolition.

The successful neutralisation of the devices underscores the importance of public vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious findings. Authorities continue to investigate the origin and circumstances surrounding how the mortar bombs came to be in the drum.
