Three pedestrians killed in KL intersection collision involving immigration vehicle

A Black Maria vehicle operated by the immigration department was involved in a fatal collision at a Kuala Lumpur intersection, resulting in three deaths on Wednesday.

The vehicle, which was operating its emergency siren and beacon, entered the intersection before striking a private motor vehicle. Following the initial impact, the Black Maria subsequently struck a man and his two daughters who were in the vicinity of the intersection.

All three pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including examination of traffic signals and vehicle movements at the time of the collision.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about road safety at major city intersections and emergency vehicle operations in built-up areas. The Land Transport Authority and Royal Malaysian Police are expected to release further details as the investigation progresses.
