Three UP students named newest Inquirer-AboitizPower journalism scholars
The Philippine Daily Inquirer and AboitizPower have selected three junior students from the University of the Philippines as recipients of their prestigious journalism scholarship. The awardees were chosen from more than 150 applicants nationwide.

MANILA — Three junior students from the University of the Philippines have been named recipients of the Philippine Daily Inquirer-AboitizPower journalism scholarship, a program aimed at nurturing the next generation of Philippine journalists.
The successful scholars are Sharmaine Reyes and Rafael Quilling from UP Diliman, and Jia Christy Enad from UP Cebu. Their selection was made from a competitive pool of more than 150 applicants representing educational institutions across the country.
The scholarship program, a collaboration between the nation's leading newspaper and the power company, provides financial support and mentorship opportunities to promising journalism students. The initiative underscores the commitment of both organizations to develop quality journalism and informed citizenry in the Philippines.
As scholarship recipients, the three scholars are expected to demonstrate excellence in their journalism coursework while gaining practical experience in news reporting and writing. The program has previously produced journalists who have gone on to make significant contributions to Philippine media.
