Three-way contest heats up in Kerala's Thrikkodithanam bypoll race

Electoral campaigning has intensified across Kottayam district following the nomination of candidates from all three major political fronts for the Thrikkodithanam panchayat division bypoll. The seat fell vacant after the sitting member was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly, triggering the byelection.
Beyond the main panchayat division contest, voters in the region will also decide byelections for two additional wards. The first ward of Meenadom grama panchayat, known as Cheeramkulam, and the 10th ward of Pampady grama panchayat, designated as Kumpanthanam, will simultaneously hold elections.
The simultaneous elections across multiple divisions have amplified campaigning efforts, with political workers intensifying ground-level activities across the constituencies. All three fronts have strategically fielded their candidates as they seek to consolidate support in the Kottayam region.
