KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a thunderstorm warning on Friday for Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and six other states, with alerts expected to remain in effect until 4 p.m.

The warning covers areas across the region as a weather system brings the potential for severe thunderstorms, heavy downpours, and gusty winds. MetMalaysia advised residents and commuters in the affected areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.

Authorities recommended that people stay indoors during peak storm activity, avoid outdoor activities, and secure loose items that could be affected by strong winds. Motorists were urged to exercise caution on roadways, as visibility may be reduced during heavy rainfall.

The meteorological department continues to monitor the weather system and will provide updates should conditions change or the warning need to be extended beyond the scheduled time.
