ILAGAN, Isabela—The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) has committed P59.8 million to fund three tourism infrastructure projects in Ilagan City, marking a significant boost for the region's tourism development initiatives.
TIEZA Chief Operating Officer Mark Lapid formalized the commitment during an October 13 visit to the city, where he signed a memorandum of agreement outlining the terms for the projects. The funding underscores the national government's continued focus on developing tourism infrastructure in key provincial centers.
The three projects are expected to enhance Ilagan's tourism appeal and create economic opportunities for local communities. While specific details of the individual projects were not immediately disclosed, the substantial investment reflects TIEZA's strategic focus on supporting tourism zones beyond Metro Manila.
Ilagan, the capital of Isabela province, has increasingly attracted attention as a potential tourism destination in the Cagayan Valley region. The infrastructure support from TIEZA aligns with broader national efforts to distribute tourism benefits across the country and strengthen provincial economies.
