Wildlife officials in Rajasthan closed a major highway connecting Alwar and Jaipur after a tiger was sighted moving across the road near Thanagazi town. The big cat had apparently wandered out of the Sariska Tiger Reserve, a protected sanctuary approximately 40 kilometers from the town.
Vehicle drivers immediately halted traffic upon spotting the tiger crossing the roadway. The unexpected presence of the predator caused momentary panic among commuters, prompting several to alert nearby authorities.
Within minutes of receiving reports, district administration moved to seal off the highway route to prevent further human-wildlife interaction. The closure remained in effect while forest personnel worked to assess the situation and track the animal's movement.
Sariska Tiger Reserve, located in the Aravalli Range, has been the focus of wildlife conservation efforts for over a decade. Occasional tiger movements beyond reserve boundaries are not uncommon during monsoon seasons when prey availability shifts and animals expand their territorial range in search of food and water.
