MANILA — ACT Teachers party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio on Thursday urged the House Budget Amendments Review Subcommittee (BARSc) and the chamber's leadership to publish comprehensive committee reports detailing all proposed amendments to the 2027 national budget.

Tinio's call comes as the subcommittee prepares to commence formal deliberations on budget modifications for the upcoming fiscal year. The lawmaker stressed the importance of making the budgeting process more transparent to lawmakers and the general public.

The push for detailed documentation reflects broader efforts by some House members to ensure greater scrutiny of budget allocations. By releasing committee reports before or during the amendment review process, lawmakers would have sufficient time to examine proposed changes and their fiscal implications.

The House is expected to prioritize budget discussions in the coming weeks as Congress works toward finalizing the appropriations bill for 2027. The transparency measures called for by Tinio could influence how amendments are evaluated and ultimately approved by the full chamber.
