Tirumala Temple Announces Accident Cover, Staff Pay Hikes

The Tirupati Devasthanams board has sanctioned enhanced benefits for both devotees and employees at one of India's most visited religious sites. Pilgrims visiting the sacred temple will now be covered under an accident insurance scheme providing ₹10 lakh coverage, strengthening the institution's commitment to visitor safety and welfare.

In parallel administrative action, the TTD has approved salary revisions benefiting staff members across 48 different job categories. The pay revision exercise reflects the temple authority's effort to ensure competitive compensation for its workforce and improve service delivery.

Additional employee benefits have also been extended, with health insurance coverage now approved for Contract Personnel System (CPS) and Multi-Category System (MCS) employees. These measures underscore the TTD's broader agenda of enhancing working conditions across its organizational structure.

The announcements coincide with preparations for major religious processions at the temple, which will feature cultural performances by 27 troupes representing 25 Indian states. International participation will add global dimension to the celebrations, with artistes from Singapore and Japan confirmed to perform during the processions. The cultural showcase aims to present India's diverse performing traditions to the large gathering of pilgrims expected during the festival season.
