TMC accuses BJP of abandoning Bangladeshi monk after coming to power

The Trinamool Congress stepped up its attack on the BJP on Wednesday, accusing the saffron party of abandoning Bangladeshi religious figure Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu after coming to power in West Bengal.

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh levelled the charge during a public address, suggesting the BJP had shown little concern for Das's situation since its electoral success in the state. Ghosh claimed the party had prioritised governance over the plight of the spiritual leader, who has been a point of contention between the two political camps.

The allegation comes as tensions remain high over Das's legal status and treatment. The TMC's criticism underscores the ongoing political disagreements in West Bengal, where the BJP and TMC have been locked in intense rivalry.
