The Ritabrata-led camp of the Trinamool Congress has announced candidates for the assembly by-elections in West Bengal, positioning itself as a rival faction within the ruling party. Mohammad Eteshamul Haque has been nominated to contest from Nandigram in Purba Medinipur district, while Safiuzzaman Sheikh will represent the group from Rejinagar in Murshidabad.
