Tourist police officers rescue child from near-drowning at Ilocos Sur beach

SAN ILDEFONSO, ILOCOS SUR — Tourist police officers and local barangay officials successfully rescued a child who nearly drowned while swimming with family members at a beach in Sinait town on Sunday.
Personnel from the Sinait Tourist Police Assistance Center (TPAC) were conducting routine security patrols at Maldives of Ilocandia in Barangay Dadalaquiten Sur when officers heard calls for help from the water.
The officers immediately responded to the scene and pulled the child from the water. The child was brought to safety and checked for injuries following the incident.
Authorities did not provide further details about the child's condition or the exact circumstances that led to the near-drowning. The incident underscores the importance of lifeguard presence and emergency response readiness at popular swimming destinations throughout the region.
