Tourist sentenced to over two years for stealing diamond worth $200,000
A tourist who concealed a high-value diamond in his mouth after stealing it from a jewellery store has been sentenced to more than two years in prison. His accomplice received an identical sentence.

The man, identified as Serasiya Milan Ramnikbhai, was convicted of theft after removing the diamond from a jewellery display and hiding it in his mouth to evade detection. The gemstone was valued at approximately $200,000. Ramnikbhai was sentenced to two years, two months and two weeks imprisonment following his conviction. His accomplice in the scheme received the same custodial sentence, reflecting the severity of the coordinated theft. The case highlights the risks travellers undertake when committing theft abroad, where penalties can be substantial. Both individuals are now serving their sentences in custody.
