San Antonio, Zambales — Residents and businesses across several municipalities in Zambales experienced an unscheduled power outage Monday due to a malfunction in the electrical grid infrastructure. The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) attributed the interruption to a fault detected in a 69-kilovolt transmission line serving the region.
The power disruption impacted areas spanning from Iba, the provincial capital, to the municipality of Sta. Cruz, affecting an undetermined number of consumers across the affected zones. The NGCP issued an advisory notifying the public of the outage and its technical cause.
The corporation did not specify in its initial statement when power would be fully restored to all affected areas or provide details regarding the nature of the transmission line fault. Technicians were expected to work on repairs to resolve the interruption and restore normal service to the region.
