Transport Minister Rules Out Ban on Foreign Passengers from Rapid KL Services

Transport Minister Anthony Loke has firmly rejected calls for a blanket ban on foreign passengers using Rapid KL bus services, stating that such a measure would be impractical and contrary to public transport principles.

Loke's comments come in response to concerns raised following alleged misconduct incidents involving some foreign passengers aboard Rapid KL buses. Rather than imposing entry restrictions based on nationality, the minister indicated that authorities would address problematic behaviour through existing enforcement mechanisms.

The minister emphasised that public transportation systems should remain accessible to all users, including tourists and foreign residents, as long as passengers comply with established codes of conduct and regulations.

Rapid KL, the primary public bus operator in the Klang Valley, serves hundreds of thousands of commuters daily alongside domestic and international travellers. The transport authority is expected to continue monitoring passenger behaviour and working with enforcement agencies to address any violations.
