West Tripura District will launch a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of its electoral rolls starting September 5, marking a significant administrative push to ensure accurate voter registrations across the region.

District Magistrate and Collector Vishal Kumar convened discussions with media representatives to brief them on the scope and timeline of the electoral roll revision process. The official outlined the district administration's commitment to conducting a comprehensive and transparent update of voter records during the revision period.

The SIR exercise aims to identify and correct discrepancies in existing electoral rolls, including duplicate entries, deceased voters, and individuals who may have relocated. Officials emphasized that the revision would be conducted systematically across all assembly segments in West Tripura District to strengthen the electoral process.

District authorities have coordinated with the Election Commission machinery to ensure proper implementation of the revision guidelines. The administration has also engaged media representatives as part of its broader effort to maintain transparency and public awareness regarding the electoral roll update process.

The September 5 commencement date marks the beginning of what is expected to be a methodical and inclusive process aimed at maintaining the integrity of voter lists ahead of future electoral exercises in the state.
