Tropical depression set to enter Philippines, strengthen monsoon rains
A tropical depression currently outside the Philippine area of responsibility will move into the country by Thursday, bringing intensified southwest monsoon conditions, the state weather bureau reported Wednesday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the weather system is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Thursday morning or afternoon.
Once the tropical depression moves into Philippine waters, it is forecast to enhance the ongoing southwest monsoon, commonly known as the habagat, which typically brings rain to western portions of the country.
The timing of the system's arrival could bring significant moisture and precipitation to affected regions, particularly those already under monsoon influence. Residents in western and southwestern areas are advised to monitor weather updates as the system approaches.
