Tropical depression trough to drench Visayas, Mindanao with rain

The trough of a tropical depression is expected to persist in bringing significant rainfall over the Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its latest weather advisory.

During the 5 p.m. weather briefing, Pagasa meteorologist Benison Estareja noted that the extension of the tropical depression system outside the Philippine area of responsibility continues to influence weather patterns across the southern and central regions of the country.

Residents in affected areas have been advised to monitor weather updates closely and prepare for potential flooding and landslides in susceptible locations. Communities are urged to take necessary precautions and ensure drainage systems are clear to minimize water accumulation.

Pagasa is expected to issue regular updates as the weather system moves across the archipelago. The bureau recommends that the public remain vigilant and heed all weather warnings issued by the agency.
