Tropical Storm to Enter Philippine Waters, No Direct Threat Expected

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported Sunday morning that Severe Tropical Storm Cempaka is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) between Sunday evening and early Monday. Upon crossing into Philippine territory, the storm will be assigned the local name Samuel under the agency's naming convention.

Despite its entry into PAR, the weather bureau clarified that Samuel will not bring direct impacts to the Philippines. The storm's projected track is expected to keep it at a safe distance from Philippine landmass, minimizing weather threats to the nation's population.

The update came as part of PAGASA's regular weather advisory issued in the early morning hours, providing residents and disaster management officials with the latest information on the approaching weather system. Authorities continue to monitor Samuel's development and movement to ensure accurate forecasting for any potential changes to its trajectory.
