Tropical storm trough to drench Visayas, Mindanao; Luzon faces heat
The Philippines will experience split weather conditions Thursday as a tropical storm system affects the southern islands while the northern region endures hot and humid conditions, the state weather bureau said.

The trough of a tropical storm positioned outside the Philippine area of responsibility will bring rain to parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Meanwhile, Luzon will experience generally fair to partly cloudy skies with hot and humid conditions throughout the day, the weather agency said in its 5 a.m. forecast.
Residents in the Visayas and Mindanao should prepare for possible localized flooding and landslides in areas prone to such hazards. Coastal communities in southern regions are also advised to monitor sea conditions, as the trough system may generate rough seas in the vicinity.
PAGASA advised the public to stay informed through regular weather updates as the system continues to influence conditions across the archipelago. Motorists and outdoor workers in affected areas are urged to exercise caution during heavy downpours.
