The trough or extension of Severe Tropical Storm Choi-Wan, currently positioned off Northern Luzon and beyond the Philippine area of responsibility, will sustain wet conditions across the Visayas and Mindanao on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

The weather disturbance remains outside Philippine jurisdiction but maintains sufficient influence to generate moderate to heavy precipitation across these regions. The state weather bureau has been monitoring the system's movement and expected impact on affected areas.

Residents in the Visayas and Mindanao are advised to prepare for possible flooding and landslides given the anticipated rainfall. Local government units have been urged to maintain readiness for potential weather-related emergencies.

The weather service continues to issue regular updates on the system's track and intensity. Filipinos are encouraged to monitor official weather bulletins for the latest forecasts and any changes to the expected weather patterns.
