The Sultan of Perlis has emphasised that genuine independence extends beyond political sovereignty, requiring mature thinking and strong ethical foundations rooted in religious principles and cultural heritage. Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail made the remarks while addressing the importance of responsible citizenship and national consciousness among the rakyat.
