Trump signals imminent end to Iran-US tensions
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that escalating tensions with Iran could be resolved soon, while renewing concerns about Tehran's nuclear ambitions and alleged interference in American elections.

Trump on Tuesday suggested that hostilities between the United States and Iran would be brought to a close in the coming period, marking a shift in rhetoric from his previous assertions made immediately following November's U.S. midterm elections.
The former president accused Iran of attempting to interfere in American electoral processes while simultaneously pursuing nuclear weapons capability, which he characterized as a significant threat to global security and stability.
Tensions between Washington and Tehran have fluctuated considerably in recent years, centered on Iran's nuclear program and its regional activities. Trump's administration previously withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal, in 2018, intensifying bilateral friction.
Iran has consistently denied accusations of election interference and maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. The country's leadership has called for dialogue to resolve outstanding disputes with the United States.
