Tsitsipas recovered from a slow start to overwhelm Lehecka in a lopsided contest that saw the Greek competitor significantly outwit his opponent from the service line. The 26-year-old fired four times as many aces as his Czech rival, a differential that proved decisive in the match's outcome.
After dropping the opening set, Tsitsipas found his rhythm in the second frame, claiming it 6-1 as he increasingly dictated play from the baseline. The momentum continued into the third set, where the experienced campaigner edged out Lehecka in a closely contested tiebreak before sealing the result with another dominant fourth-set performance.
The victory extends Tsitsipas's campaign in the year's final Grand Slam tournament. The 26-year-old, who has previously ranked among the world's elite players, continues his bid for a deep run in New York.
