Tuanku Muhriz formally installs Azrin Khairi as 17th Undang Luak Jelebu

The Pahang Telekom Malaysia senior general manager has been formally installed in his new role as custodian of the Jelebu tribal lands. The appointment, made official by Tuanku Muhriz, marks the beginning of Azrin Khairi's tenure as the 17th Undang Luak Jelebu, a hereditary leadership position within the Pahang Malay community.

Azrin Khairi succeeds Maarof Mat Rashad, who was removed from the position effective May 31, 2023. The transition marks the latest change in Pahang's traditional leadership structure, where undang positions hold significant cultural and ceremonial importance within their respective territorial domains.

As Undang Luak Jelebu, Azrin Khairi assumes responsibility for representing the interests and customs of his community. The role traditionally involves oversight of land matters, community welfare, and the preservation of cultural heritage within the Jelebu jurisdiction. His appointment follows formal procedures and protocols governed by Pahang's customary administrative framework.
