MANILA — Senator-Judge Raffy Tulfo pressed officials Monday to explain the legal basis for allowing Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, lawyer Manases Carpio, to maintain an unusually large personal firearms collection during the vice president's impeachment trial.
Tulfo's questioning focused on the 51 guns registered to the couple as private Type 5 collectors, raising doubts about whether such quantities aligned with standard licensing regulations. The senator-judge directed his inquiry to Major Joericson Sangalang of the Philippine National Police Firearms and Explosives Office, who was present during the proceedings.
