Police in Tumakuru have apprehended a suspect linked to the Dhar gang, a criminal outfit based in Madhya Pradesh, in connection with a high-value theft from a passenger bus. The arrest comes after authorities recovered stolen goods and valuables worth ₹23 lakh during the operation.

The theft occurred on September 17, 2026, when a KSRTC Airavat bus halted near a hotel within the Kallambella police station jurisdiction for a breakfast stop at approximately 7 am. During this interval, the suspect is alleged to have made off with valuables from passengers on board.

Following investigations, Tumakuru police identified and arrested the accused individual. Officers seized the recovered items, which have been valued at ₹23 lakh. The suspect is currently in police custody as the investigation into the incident continues.
