GEORGE TOWN — The rightmost lanes on both directions of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway will be closed beginning October 12 to facilitate elevated U-turn construction works, authorities announced on Thursday.

Motor traffic on the expressway will experience temporary diversions as the project progresses. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow additional travel time during peak hours.

The elevated U-turn facility is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements along the expressway, which serves as a critical transport corridor in Penang. Authorities have not specified the expected duration of the construction phase.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution in the affected sections and comply with traffic control measures and signage. For real-time traffic updates and alternative route information, motorists can refer to local traffic management agencies and navigation applications.
