The trilateral defence pact committee will convene in Riyadh on October 5, according to an announcement from Turkey's foreign ministry on Sunday. Turkish ministerial representatives are among those scheduled to attend the discussions, which will focus on strengthening cooperation under the three-nation agreement.
The Mecca pact, established between the three Muslim-majority nations, aims to enhance security and defence coordination across the region. The committee meeting represents a continuation of efforts by the signatories to deepen their strategic partnership and address shared security concerns.
Turkey's participation at the ministerial level underscores the importance Ankara places on the alliance. The talks in Riyadh will provide an opportunity for the three nations to review implementation of the pact and discuss future collaborative initiatives.
Regional defence agreements have become increasingly significant as countries in South and Southeast Asia navigate evolving geopolitical dynamics and security challenges.
