Turkish authorities detain nine crew after maritime collision off Istanbul

Turkish officials have taken nine crew members into custody following a maritime collision that occurred early Wednesday in waters off Silivri, Istanbul. The empty oil tanker ALSU struck the steel-carrying cargo vessel Tugberk Imamoglu approximately 18 nautical miles from the coast.
All 10 crew members aboard the Tugberk Imamoglu have been reported missing following the collision. Search and rescue operations were initiated in the aftermath of the incident, though details regarding the fate of the missing crew remain unclear.
