Authorities in Etah district have initiated criminal proceedings against a private tutor following allegations that she forced students to produce inflammatory social media videos containing anti-government messaging. The tutor, who operated an Instagram account under the name 'Pratibha Edu Squad,' reportedly used her position of trust to pressure minors into creating the controversial content.
The case came to light after parents and school administrators raised concerns about the nature of videos being shared on the social media platform. Police registered a formal complaint and launched an investigation into the matter, treating it as a serious breach of child protection protocols and misuse of educational authority.
The National Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance of the incident and issued directives to Meta India, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and Etah district administration, demanding detailed reports within two weeks. The commission's intervention underscores concerns about child safety in digital spaces and the responsibility of social media platforms in monitoring potentially harmful content involving minors.
Authorities have not yet disclosed details of the specific nature of the videos or the number of children involved. The case raises broader questions about digital literacy, child protection, and the use of children in creating political content on social media platforms.
