TV Actor Granted Bail in POCSO Case, to Be Released After Two Months

The Mumbai Sessions Court on Tuesday approved bail for TV actor Rohit Chandel in a POCSO case, paving the way for his release from custody after approximately two months in detention.

Chandel had been arrested following serious allegations levied by a 16-year-old girl. The case was registered under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which carries stringent penalties for offences against minors.

As part of the bail conditions, the court has imposed strict restrictions on the actor's movement and conduct. Chandel has been explicitly prohibited from making any contact with the victim or her family members. The court's order aims to ensure the victim's safety and prevent any potential intimidation during the course of legal proceedings.

The bail approval comes after the actor spent two months in jail following his arrest in connection with the case. The investigation into the allegations remains ongoing, with further proceedings expected to continue in court.
